Overview
Since 1972, Covenant House has served and advocated for youth and young families experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and exploitation. Our overarching goal is to end homelessness among youth and young families by helping them achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, tap into their innate resilience, and hone their interests and skills to forge new pathways to independence. This work is carried out across Covenant House sites in 34 cities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
About the Role
The Director, Integrated Data Services (Analytics) is responsible for advancing Covenant House’s fundraising goals through the execution of data analytics projects, including developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
In this role, you will report directly to the AVP, Integrated Data Services, and will initially serve as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a team of data analysts. You will have the opportunity to shape Covenant House’s data and analytics strategy, expand and optimize our data warehouse, and support the integration of advanced analytics tools. You will also play a key role in recommending solutions that enhance data-driven decision-making and improve fundraising effectiveness, helping us better serve young people experiencing homelessness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze donor and campaign data to identify trends, behaviors, and opportunities
- Develop and automate reports, dashboards, and visualizations that translate data into actionable insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data and reporting needs, opportunities, and solutions aligned with organizational objectives
- Provide consultation on design, implementation, and assessment of statistical models and scoring methodologies to attain targeted performance outcomes in collaboration with campaign teams
- Build reporting solutions for areas such as file health, lifetime value, marketing attribution, and cost to acquire, and monitor for learnings and opportunities
Data Infrastructure & Operations
- Assist with the ongoing development and maintenance of our data warehouse
- Integrate new data sources and support analytics tool implementation and maintenance
- Monitor and enforce data quality standards across systems
Fundraising Support
- Partner with audience managers and campaign teams to design queries, tests, donor segmentation strategies, and campaign tracking systems that inform donor-centric decisions
- Support campaign teams in setting cost allowables to optimize paid media investment management and budget cycles
- Perform attribution analyses, developing reports that showcase the impact of multi-touch investments and omnichannel match-back reporting capabilities
- Conduct donor migration path analyses to understand how donors are moving in and out of channels and programs
Collaboration
- Work with external vendors on the implementation of predictive models and other analytics tools.
- Serve as part of the business intelligence hub for the organization, meeting with business teams to support strategy development and identify analytical and business intelligence needs
- This role does not currently have direct reports but is expected to supervise at least one team member within the next year as the analytics function grows. The Director will be responsible for fostering professional development and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of analytics services as the team expands
Sample Projects

- Develop and automate Power BI dashboards that provide insights on campaign ROI, donor retention, and file health to inform fundraising strategy and donor engagement
- Integrate fundraising data sources into a Redshift data warehouse to enable comprehensive performance analysis
- Produce in-depth analyses on donor trends, segmentation, and giving behaviors to inform marketing strategies and targeted outreach
- Hands-on experience analyzing data to drive results in fundraising or marketing across online and offline channels
- Proficiency in data exploration, visualization, and reporting using Excel, Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, SQL, or similar
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes
- Knowledge of predictive modeling and statistical analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings visually, verbally, and in writing to diverse audiences
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Data Science, or a related field; or, in place of a degree, a minimum of 2 years of analytics experience within nonprofit or marketing settings
- 5+ years of experience in analytics roles within nonprofit or marketing environments
To qualify, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, or, if without a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications- Direct experience with nonprofit CRM systems
- Familiarity with GA4 and/or BigQuery
- Experience with Python or R
- Ability to travel once per year to New York City in January for our annual in-person traditions.
- Outside of our annual traditions, this position is remote. While occasional travel for meetings may be requested, such instances have historically been infrequent.
